Summer in the City

I started today reluctantly, knowing it would be unbearably hot again. My plan to stay inside in the cool air as much as possible worked pretty well today. I started off taking the train a few blocks down to the Rite Aid in Sunset Park. I picked up some prints of pictures and walked to the post office, which either didn't exist or was not labeled in English. The whole ordeal was only about six blocks, but the heat was horrible. I almost didn't take my camera today, but on the way back to the station I was glad I did! There was a classic city summer scene happening right there.
Kids playing in the spray from the fire hydrant!
I wanted to jump in so badly!!!!

Next I went to the Vegetarian Dim Sum House in Chinatown. It was amazing! got several things so I could have leftovers. It was so good I even had some for dinner tonight! This was by far the best meal I've had so far. Definitely a place to check out if you're ever here!
I don't remember exactly what I ordered. The green thing on the plate was a spinach dumpling. There were also fried wantons, pan fried dumplings, some other kind of dumpling, and springrolls.
This seems to be the pan fried dumpling. YUM!
I was going to take a picture of the outside of the building, but when I left there was a big delivery truck right in front. Here's someone else's picture of it.

Next stop was The Museum of TV and Radio. The World Cup was playing in the main screening room, so I went straight to the library. I watched the pilot of Murder She Wrote thanks to Matt's love of it. It was like reading one of my favorite mystery books in a TV show!
Around 5 I headed home and later had a lovely Skype chat with the family. Now I'm getting ready to plan another indoor day. Cross your fingers for slightly better weather!
